Case Study: Client’s Confidence Soars after Ashley and Martin’s Treatment
It was in her early fifties that June* first experienced hair loss. Her mother had suffered a similar problem when she was younger. Living with hair loss was something that was natural to June having seen it on her mother throughout her childhood. It was such a normal part of life to her that June thought if her hair loss had been the result of illness there was more likely to be treatment available to her. Feeling it was hereditary and that there may be nothing that could be done about it, June called Ashley and Martin after hearing that the consultation was free. She figured it was a case of ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained.’
June disclosed to her consultant that the advanced thinning visible on her crown had taken only six months to reach this stage. She was thoroughly distressed to think how much her hair loss may have progressed in another six months. To June, the idea of developing a completely bald patch was atrocious. The consultant proceeded to conduct a scalp examination after discussing her medical history and family history of hair loss.
To treat June’s Female Pattern Hair Loss, the consultant advocated using several different options in her plan. A dietary supplement was recommended to support the nutritional needs June’s hair. She had spoken about her diet and her consultant was concerned she was missing some key nutrients. He also suggested using Low Level Laser Therapy with a Laser Cap and medicinal components.
After five days thinking about her treatment options, June called the clinic to order her laser cap and book an appointment with the doctor to have blood tests done and her medication prescribed.
Working up from using the laser cap for five minutes every second day to half an hour at a time, June faithfully followed her treatment program. Although her treatment was done in her own home, her consultant still kept in contact with her to make sure she was fully supported. Further blood tests were taken several months after starting treatment.
At a meeting with her consultant, June declared she was thrilled with the results she had experienced. Her hair had gained such density that her scalp no longer showed through her hair. It had been almost a year since she was comfortable enough to leave the house without a hat. After six months of treatment her self-confidence had soared to a place where it did not even cross her mind to put on a hat unless it was sunny out.
